Terms of Service

Last updated July 25, 2026

These are the rules for using Clip'd. By creating an account or buying credits, you agree to them.

Who you are dealing with

Clip'd is operated by Derek Bobola, Nashua, New Hampshire, USA. Contact: derek.bobola@gmail.com. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Clip'd, and "you" means you.

What Clip'd does

You give Clip'd a link to a YouTube video. Clip'd fetches the transcript and uses AI to produce summaries, key moments, quotes, suggested clips, a Hype Check score, a pre-publish critique, and multi-video Lessons. You can save all of it to a private library, add your own notes, and ask questions about it.

Your account

Credits and payment

Clip'd runs on credits. Actions that cost real money on our side, fetching a transcript, generating artifacts, running a critique, chatting with the AI, spend credits from your balance. Current costs are shown in the app.

Refunds

If you bought credits by mistake, or Clip'd is not doing what the site said it would, email us within 30 days and we will refund the unused portion. We are a small operation and we would rather sort it out than argue with you.

What you may not do

If you find a genuine security problem, we would rather hear about it than have it exploited. Email us.

Video content and copyright

Clip'd does not give you any rights to the videos you analyze. A transcript is the video creator's words. A summary is derived from their work. What you may legally do with that output depends on copyright law and on YouTube's own terms, and it is your responsibility, not ours.

Use Clip'd for research, note-taking, learning, and creating your own original work. If you plan to republish substantial portions of someone's content, get their permission or make sure your use is lawful. You also agree to comply with YouTube's Terms of Service when using videos from that platform.

If you believe content in Clip'd infringes your copyright, email us with the details and we will remove it.

Your content stays yours

Your notes, takes, tags, collections, and library organization belong to you. We do not claim ownership. We store and process them only to run the service for you, and we do not use them to train AI models. You grant us the limited permission needed to do that, and nothing more.

What AI output is worth

AI gets things wrong. Summaries can miss the point, quotes can be misattributed, scores are opinions dressed as numbers, and transcripts contain errors from the captions they came from. Check anything that matters before you rely on it or publish it. Clip'd is a drafting and research tool, not a source of truth.

Nothing Clip'd produces is professional, legal, financial, or medical advice.

Service availability

We aim to keep Clip'd running, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We depend on third parties including YouTube, OpenAI, Supabase, Stripe, and our host, and any of them can fail or change their terms. We may add, change, or remove features. If we make a change that meaningfully reduces what you paid for, tell us and we will make it right.

Ending your account

You can stop using Clip'd at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and data. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, especially the parts about abuse, copyright, or getting around metering. If we close your account for something you did not do, we will refund unused credits.

Legal limits

Clip'd is provided as is, without warranties of any kind beyond those the law requires and does not let us disclaim. To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, for lost profits, or for lost data. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of twenty-five US dollars or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Some places do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to you only as far as local law permits. Nothing here takes away consumer rights you have by law.
