Clip'd turns YouTube videos into transcripts, summaries, and clip ideas. This page explains what we collect, why, and who else touches it. Plain language, no hedging.
Clip'd is operated by Derek Bobola, Nashua, New Hampshire, USA. You can reach us any time at derek.bobola@gmail.com. For anything in this policy, that address is the fastest way to a human.
Card payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We keep a record of which credit pack you bought, the amount, and Stripe's reference for the transaction.
We set one cookie, a signed session cookie, so the site remembers you are logged in. It is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, which we use to prevent abuse and diagnose failures.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use your private notes or library to train our own AI models. We do not run advertising trackers on this site.
Running Clip'd means handing certain data to specialist services. Each one gets only what it needs to do its job.
| Service | What it handles |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database and login. Stores your account, library, and credits. |
| OpenAI | Generates summaries, critiques, Lessons, and chat replies. Receives video transcripts and your questions. |
| Vercel | Hosting. Serves the site and keeps server logs. |
| Stripe | Payments. Handles your card details directly. |
| Sign in with Google, if you choose it. | |
| Transcript provider | Fetches captions for a video you submit. |
| Resend | Sends the emails you have asked for. |
These providers are located in the United States and elsewhere, so your information may be processed outside your country.
Clip'd works with publicly available YouTube videos and their captions. The words in a transcript belong to whoever made the video, not to us and not to you. Transcripts are stored so you do not have to pay to fetch the same video twice, and a transcript already fetched by one user may be reused for another user who submits the same video. Your private notes, takes, and chats are never shared this way.
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. Email derek.bobola@gmail.com and we will act on it. If you are in the EU or UK, or in a US state with its own privacy law such as California, those rights are yours by law and we honor them regardless of where you live. We will not charge you or degrade your service for asking.
You can delete individual clips yourself at any time from inside the app.
Login sessions use signed cookies that cannot be forged by a browser. Every clip is scoped to the account that owns it. Credentials live in encrypted environment settings, never in our source code. Connections use HTTPS. No system is perfect, and we will tell you promptly if a breach ever affects your data.
Clip'd is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will remove it.
If we change how we handle your information in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, tell account holders by email.
